Duty to inform – data not provided directly by the data subject
One of the most important rights of data subjects is the right to information, which allows them to be informed of all relevant details regarding the processing of their data.
Accordingly, the Data Controller is required to provide the information set out in Article 14 of the GDPR, and this document is intended to clarify the following:
- Identity and contact details of the data controller:
The personal data collected will be processed by Paralab – Equipamentos Industriais e de Laboratório, S.A., which can be contacted via email at (rgpd@paralab.pt).
In this context, your data may be transferred to subcontracted entities for the provision of certain services, under the terms of the contracts entered into with them. It may also be disclosed to third parties for the purposes set out herein and for compliance with legal obligations, a decision of the National Data Protection Commission (CNPD) or another relevant supervisory authority, a court order, or for the protection of the data subject’s vital interests.
- Purposes of the processing of personal data and the legal basis for processing:
The processing of your personal data is intended to create a customer/user account, enable online purchases of products, and send marketing communications. The legal basis for such processing is the performance of a contract and/or pre-contractual steps at the request of the data subject, and the data subject’s consent, whenever required.

Your personal data will be retained only for the legally required period, and its retention will comply with the guarantees of secrecy and confidentiality set out in the GDPR.
You may, at any time, request from Paralab access to your personal data, as well as its rectification, erasure, or restriction of processing, the portability of your data, or object to its processing (subject to the legally applicable conditions). For this purpose, you may request a specific document to exercise that right.
- Information on the exercise of rights by the data subject:
The data subject has the right to request from Paralab access to their personal data, as well as its rectification or erasure, and the restriction of processing insofar as it concerns the data subject, or the right to object to processing, as well as the right to data portability. Whenever the data subject wishes to exercise any of their rights, they should request from the data controller the relevant forms for that purpose.
The data subject has the right to lodge a complaint with the National Data Protection Commission (CNPD) or another competent supervisory authority under the law, if they believe that the processing of their personal data violates the legal framework in force at any given time.
